And we’re not just talking about Disney princesses, but also other famous princesses. Dress-up like Princess Leia from Star Wars, Peach (the adorable princess who Super Mario loves to rescue), Medieval princesses, Arabic princesses, or other fairy-tale princesses if you want a different kind of look.

The princess make-up you need

Here at Funidelia we like to make it easy, so as well as costumes we’ve also got all the make-up you’ll need to become whatever character you want. To do your make-up like a real princess, follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Apply a clear base colour to your face, like white or beige. Add some powder.
  • Step 2: With a black pencil, mark around your eye line and apply eye-shadow in a soft colour. Ideally this colour will match whatever dress you’ve chosen. You can combine it with another more neutral colour, like white, under the eye and beneath your eyebrows.
  • Step 3: Apply eyeliner along the lash line above the eye and halfway along the lower lash line. Apply mascara.
  • Step 4: Apply orange or pink blush on your cheeks and on the tip of your nose. This will give you a sweet, angelic look.
  • Step 5: Apply brown eye-shadow to the eyebrows to accentuate them.
  • Step 6: Line your lips with a dark colour, like a dark red, and then apply matching lipstick.

What should a princess costume look like? Important accessories

The first and most important part of becoming a beautiful princess is having a great dress. This is generally a long dress with a big skirt, although you can find sexier versions with shorter skirts. It can be any colour, although they normally come in white, blue, pink or yellow, like the famous Belle from Beauty and the Beast. The important thing is that it’s stunning and eye-catching, so everyone knows who you are.

When it comes to Medieval princesses, dresses should be made from velvet and be more tight fitting at the top, maybe even including a corset. The Arabian Princess look is also a little different, it often includes a tunic and trousers instead of a dress. It might also include a turban and even a veil to go over your face.

Tiara or crown

Probably the most important accessory that shows you’re a princess is the shining crown or tiara on your head. This is usually gold or silver. You could also add a necklace to match, to finish off your enchanting princess look.

Shoes

Some beautiful high heels always add a touch of glamour to any dress. You could match them to the colour of your dress, or you could even wear another type of shoe, like Princess Leia’s boots.

Wig

A beautiful, long wig is also important for a princess. They are normally shown with curly or wavy hair, and always with an incredibly complicated hairstyle that suits them to a tee. So as not to complicate things, it’s best to wear a princess wig.

Have fun!
