Halloween Decorations

In this post, you’ll find the classic Halloween decoration ideas, but you’ll also find the most terrifying and spooky decoration ideas that would frighten even the bravest of them all.

The scary, enchanted house

This Halloween party, give your guests the freedom to disguise as they want to, and let everybody choose the Halloween costume that they like the most (so long as it’s something dark and spooky …): witched, vampires, zombies, magicians, and wizards…

But the most important thing for your party to be a success is the Halloween decoration in your house so that everybody has a spooky time: cobwebs, pumpkins, dark decoration on the walls, fake blood…

You can complete the surroundings with cocktails that look like magic potions using colored drinks, like green, blue and red mixes… or use dry ice so that smoke comes out and gives it a spooky feel. You can also use spooky glasses and tableware to decorate the party.

A very-often used tip is to incite your guests to roleplay as the main characters of terror movies and wear Freddy Krueger’s clothes, or Jason’s in Friday the 13th, Pennywise’s (It’s clown)… or some other costume more fit to a “family-friendly” environment, like The Addams Family costumes.

Count Dracula and his faithful entourage of vampires

In this party, your center theme will be vampires. Everybody knows something about the bloodsuckers, which is why you can make your house a vampire’s lair. On this occasion, red and black decoration can’t go unused, tombstones and graves as in a cemetery, gloomy lighting, because even if some of them now glow with sunlight, we’ll stick to them burning in the sunlight.

You also can’t miss out on placing candles, cobwebs, fangs, and vampire teeth and blood (fake) by the dozens. You can also invite your friends to disguise as victims, choosing whatever role they want to and come with bite marks on their necks.

As an idea for this party, we recommend to prepare some tasty cocktails, with a reddish color, since vampires do drink blood, you know. For that, you can use kitchen-safe dyes, or red fruit extracts… all of that served in gloomy Halloween cups and glasses like these.

Welcome to Zombieland

With the acclaimed series “The Walking Dead”, the living dead are no longer what they used to be. The zombie territory is trending, so you won’t disappoint if you celebrate a party themed as them, be it inspired by The Walking Dead or other zombies.

For the household Halloween decoration, we propose protecting it against a zombie attack with some “body remains,” as if the zombies were trying to break in.

If you have a garden, you can decorate it like If it were a grave, with skulls, corpses coming out of the dirt, tombstones and all kinds of elements that could get anyone in their respective roles.

With the classics covered, now we suggest some new ideas, though somewhat grotesque, which are different and can get us off the routine.

Once upon a time… a diabolical circus

The circus, with so much color and diversity, gives us plenty of choices to disguise ourselves, but if you are like us… there is nothing scarier than a bloodthirsty clown.

But we suggest turning your parties into a big, diabolical circus, with murderous clowns, perverse tamers, malign tightrope walkers, sinister acrobats, and an endless queue of demonized artists.

We suggest these clown masks to complete a homemade disguise and terrorize the guests.

Aliens: a party from another world

If we really were alone in the Universe… what a waste of space!

To begin filling it in, we suggest an extraterrestrial party.

For that, you must get your guests to disguise as aliens, each one as they want or imagines them, which can get to be really fun and you can get to know just how imaginative each one of them is. Believe me, as an expert in costumes, that this can be memorable.

And if you want to give it a more cinematographic feel to the alien party, few things are better than remembering the movie Alien and its protagonist Ellen Ripley, who faces this nasty, scary being from another planet.

And these were our crazy ideas for your Halloween party. You can also set the theme to be freer and let everyone disguise as their favorite character (even if it’s not scary). The important thing to keep in mind is to enjoy this time with your friends.

Horror is fun!
